Daily Devotion: Blessed to Serve

*November 13, 2017*
So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. - *Exodus 23:25*

The purpose of any product is determined by the manufacturer. Any other use asides the one predetermined by the manufacturer will be grossly underutilizing the product. Our purpose as children of a loving God is that we should serve Him with our totality and all that we have. To grant us that we, Being delivered from the hand of our enemies, Might serve Him without fear - *Luke 1:74*

This scripture makes it clear that the cardinal reason God invested so much in our salvation is so that “we being free might serve Him”.  We must understand that true service or stewardship is first within, then without. It begins in the heart. God is not so much after our outward show of service.

Inasmuch as there are amazing benefits and blessings tied to serving God. We do not serve Him because of those benefits; we serve Him out of a heart of love. This therefore means that only those who truly love God will truly serve Him. This is where real stewardship begins.

We also serve God irrespective of our feelings. We do not serve Him as convenient but as commanded and He has commanded that we serve Him “…all the days of our lives” whether we feel like it or not. This is why we serve God primarily by faith as faith is the only way we can go on despite our feelings.

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. - Hebrew 11:6

Why We Need Understanding Part 2

The Lack of understanding of God’s words and His ways makes a believer look like a sinner (Pro. 21:16).   As a result, he will abide in the congregation of the dead, suffering. it is the ways of God that commands the act of God! How to get Understanding Engage your spirit man. The reason many are frustrated in church is that they have not come to understand the system or ways of grasping the truth. When you are not in the spirit, you cannot appreciate any truth of scriptures. You have to be in the spirit to appreciate the truth being communicated to you (Rev. 1:10; 4:1-2) .The pursuit of revelation or understanding, it is required that you be in the spirit. You can’t find God with your head; you can only find God with your heart ( 1Cor. 2:11-13 ). It is with your spirit that you can grasp the things that are freely given to you of God, because the Holy spirit can only communicate with your spirit, not with your soul ( Rom 8:16 ). The spirit of man is the candle...
