Six US air strikes on an ISIL desert camp in Libya killed 17 fighters and destroyed three vehicles, the first American attack in Libya since President Donald Trump took office in January. US Africa Command said in a statement on Sunday that strikes on Friday targeted a camp 240km southeast of Sirte, a city that was once the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant stronghold in Libya. The camp was used to move fighters in and out of Libya, plot attacks and store weapons, the statement said. "ISIS and al-Qaeda have taken advantage of ungoverned spaces in Libya to establish sanctuaries for plotting, inspiring and directing terror attacks," it said, using another acronym for ISIL. The strikes were carried out in coordination with Libya's Government of National Accord, it added. A US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the air raids were carried out by armed drones. The last-known US strike in Libya was on January 19, a day before Trump's inaug...

A 16-year-old boy gets to see his next birthday after his show of bravery to impress a girl turned into much more than he bargained for. Alexander Shadrin is reported to have fallen 23 floors from a high-rise apartment balcony after his macho stunt to impress a girl went awfully wrong. Thankfully, the teen was conscious as at the time the paramedics showed up at the scene of the incident. Eyewitnesses told Siberian Times that Shadrin had climbed over the railing of the balcony at his home in Novosibirsk, Siberia in a desperate move to impress a female friend. Unfortunately, Shadrin was unable to stay on the balcony and would have been smashed into a thousand pieces if not for the Renault Logan car parked below which ended up breaking his fall. Although Shadrin suffered 'serious injuries,' he is stable and in intensive care. Pictures from the scene will leave you chilled to your bones as the roof of the car can be seen smashed into itself. The Renault...

Los Angeles - Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from Brad Pitt. The Rough Rider star reportedly submitted papers to end the couple's two-year marriage on Monday, citing irreconcilable differences for their split. According to  TMZ , Angelina is seeking physical custody of their six children, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, eight, but wants a judge to give the 52-year-old actor visitation rights. According to  TMZ , the 41-year-old beauty decided to end their marriage because she was “extremely upset” with the way the Moneyball star has been parenting the kids and so decided to seek joint legal custody, but not joint physical custody. Sam Allardyce has been appointed England manager. The 61-year-old signed an initial two-year deal after compensation was agreed with Sunderland, whom he steered to Premier League safety last season. He succeeds Roy Hodgson, who quit after England were knocked out of Euro 2016 in the last 16 by Iceland. Allardyce's first game in charge will be a friendly at Wembley on Thursday, 1 September against as yet unnamed opponents. His first competitive match will be in Slovakia on 4 September as England begin their qualifying campaign for the 2018 World Cup. He leaves Sunderland after nine months, having helped them avoid relegation last season. The Black Cats are now looking for their ninth manager in eight years. A statement from the club read: "The focus of everyone at Sunderland AFC is on moving forward quickly and decisively, with the appointment of the club's new manager to be confirmed at the earliest opportunity." Allardyce, a former Bolton, Newcastle, Blackburn and W...
