Daily Devotion - Time and Attention

 Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them. Colossians 2:19 (ESV) 

Lack of time and attention is one of the reasons marriages head for trouble today. It’s true that there are a lot of things that take up our time more than ever in the 21st century; pursuing a means of livelihood, running a business, the hustle and bustle of living in a busy city and so on.

In all of this, however, you must create time for your spouse. Talk to your spouse. Be on the lookout for opportunities to give your spouse an affirming word.

When your spouse needs your listening ear, give your full attention. Don’t get comfortable with being so busy that you begin to neglect your spouse.

When you give your spouse time and attention, you will become better friends. You will know and understand each other better. Friends tend to extend grace, forgiveness and kindness towards one another and they have fun together too.

 TAKE ACTION

When next your spouse needs to talk to you, put everything aside and listen.

Man Cries Out as He is Sentenced to Jail for fetching Rain Water

Gary Harrington of Eagle Point, has been sentenced to 30 days in jail and to pay a fine of $1,500, all because he had three reservoirs on his own property, that he used to collect and use rainwater. Harrington says he plans to appeal the conviction in the Jackson County Circuit Court. That conviction revolved around nine misdemeanor charges that come from a 1925 law. That archaic ordinance bans what state water managers called “illegal reservoirs.” “The government is bullying,” Harrington said in an CNS News, last Thursday. “They’ve just gotten to be big bullies and if you just lay over and die and give up, that just makes them bigger bullies. Speak unto the children of Israel that they go forward” - Exodus 14:15  It is unfortunate that many youths do not see the need or have the zeal to move forward in life.
