GM of Lekki Garden Arrested Over Building Collapse
The General Manager of Lekki Gardens, Mr. Richard Nyong, has been captured by the police for the breakdown of a five-storeyed working under development on Kushenla Road, Ikate Elegushi, Lagos State, which slaughtered no less than 35 persons.

Affirming the capture, the representative for the Lagos State Police, Dolapo Badmus said, "The MD, Lekki Gardens, Mr. Richard Nyong, has been captured. He is in guardianship and will soon be charged to court."

The building breakdown which prompted the loss of numerous lives happened around 3 AM on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 because of a substantial downpour which poured around the time.

Development specialists are said to be caught in the garbage of the breakdown. It required the exertion of salvage associations, for example, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) to help those caught from the mishap.

Reports expresses that the Lagos State Government had fixed off the building which was initially assume to be a three story building, yet the temporary workers proceeded with development, conflicting with the power of the state.

In an announcement, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde said, "In an audacious demonstration of rebellion and exemption, the proprietors of the building, Messrs Lekki Worldwide Estate Limited, the promoters of Lekki Gardens, criminally unlocked the property and kept building past the endorsed floors until the awful episode of Tuesday which has prompted loss of lives,"
